Southwest Safe Shelter:
  • a safe place to stay (4 to 6 weeks) for women and their children who are leaving an abusive situation
  • a comfortable, secure, home-like environment
  • 24 hour staff available to provide information and support
  • practical assistance, such as transportation to school and appointments
  • necessary items for your stay, including toiletries, food, bedding, and clothing
  • no charge for this service

Genesis House:
  • available to women who have been a resident at the Southwest Safe Shelter
  • longer term secure housing (usually six months) for women and their children who are still at risk after their stay at the Shelter has ended
  • fully furnished two bedroom apartments, in a secure building
  • affordable rental fees
  • continued outreach support
Crisis Line:
  • available 24 hours a day
  • anyone is welcome to call our Crisis Line - female or male
  • staff offer information and referrals
  • supportive listening, and assist ance in exploring options to resolve your issues
  • calls can include any situation with which you may feel unable to cope on your own
  • no charge for this service

Women's Outreach
  • primarily for women who are dealing with issues of abuse in their relationships
  • women living in southwest Saskatchewan who need one-on-one assistance for any difficulty are also encouraged to call
  • office hours: weekdays - 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; please leave a message if we're not in
  • no charge for this service

Men's Outreach
  • support and referral service for men in crisis in southwest Saskatchewan
  • provides crisis intervention counseling, referrals, support and assistance
  • assistance for men in finding specialized services such as: addiction services, mental health, medical services, private or pastoral counseling, legal assistance or a variety of other local services
  • provides peer support to men; an opportunity to "check in" from time to time
  • office hours: call to arrange an appointment; please leave a message if staff is unavailable
  • no charge for this service

Children's Outreach and Violence Prevention Education
  • counseling, advocacy and education services for children and youth
  • program is delivered through two strands: one-on-one child support, and school presentations
  • the mother may choose to have the Children's Outreach Co-ordinator meet with her child(ren) during their time in the Shelter
  • any parent in southwest Saskatchewan who has a child who is struggling may choose to access this service
  • presentations are delivered at schools upon invitation
  • school presentation topics include: boundaries, bullying, conflict resolution, dating violence, friendship, healthy relationships, peer pressure
  • office hours for Children's Outreach are half-days Monday to Friday, please leave a message if we aren't available

  • quality clothing for women who require career/job related clothing for job interviews, to wear to work, or to attend an educational program

Household and Clothing Donations Program
  • good quality used clothing and small household items are available to any southwest Saskatchewan family in need
  • clothing is available for women, and for male & female children, in sizes infant to teen
